On a previous posting I mentioned that when you are on camera you should be playing a role. I decided to go a little more into this today since I think it's actually something that's not stressed enough generally. You have to realize that when you are online you get to be a whole different person. You are the star of your room and you need to embrace the status. "Real life you" sometimes has problems, maybe you are a bit more upset…who knows what happened that day. "Online you" on the other hand does not suffer from setbacks like that. You always need to be on top of your game and show people how great you are doing. Not only will the members love that it, at times it will be good for you as well. Self-motivating helps a lot when it comes to feeling good. If you manage putting yourself in a good frame of mind it will last even after you finish work and you'll take home a smile on your face.
Finding that persona you want to be online is a little trickier. There obviously has to be some of you in it, otherwise it will feel too fake…so when you think about who you should be, think of things you'd like to experiment with. Being a bit more adventurous, maybe a little more naughty…maybe the shy girl next door. Something that you can empathize with and grow from there. You can start from what your current, and why not previous, partners found attractive about you. Personality and looks both are important so use what you know to be your best assets and take advantage of that. People will always prefer someone who's natural and relaxed over a performer that's being obviously fake (think of the exaggerated screaming in porn or how women just melt into a puddle when the guy barely touched them). Always keep that in mind and know that the more natural you seem in what you were doing the more success you will have.
Never forget that your outfit is just as important. Make sure to pick your clothes carefully and try to make them accentuate your best feature…flaunt it if you got it kind of approach. Also have several of them so you can alternate and maybe even change if you have a particular member that likes you to wear something specifically.
That being said, let's go back to the "alter-ego". It's very important to separate them properly, when you are with your members you are working. Don't let them see that and play your role to the best of your abilities to make them happy but remember that when you will be closing your sites you'll be back to being you. If you let any of that seep into your actual personal relationships it most likely will be damaging. Your friends, family, significant other won't know what's happening with you and why are you behaving differently than usual.
Make a story for "the other you"…make sure to keep it believable but feel free to embellish it with some exotic details. Practice the story in the mirror and see how you look while telling it, see how convincing you are and what you could be improving. Don't be afraid to discuss with your members about "you"…see what think, the things that work best and impress the most. With time this will become second nature and when you go online you'll automatically fall into the role. And remember, never be afraid to change something if you feel like it's not catching on or the members don't react to it as you thought they would. You're a performer and the act you put on for your members should be about them, not you.
I've seen women hurt and upset over what happened online just because they took everything personally. Instead of understanding that the member is there for the show and for the entertainment…they thought the member wanted to insult/hurt/make fun (any variation of these things) specifically her. Which is of course wrong, the member just sees the face you put online, believes the words you tell him and can reach "the real you" only if you let him.
For the hours you spend online lose yourself in your character. Don't be afraid to be a dreamer, don't be afraid to make your fantasies come true…each and every time you go online you can be whoever you want to be and have a blast while doing it. Feel free to scroll through the other cam girls working and see how they try to get in touch with their own persona. Seeing things from the outside can always trigger some inspiration about your own person, what works and what does not.
