I’ve seen over time a lot models complain about the fact that members don’t take them in private chat straight away after entering her free chat and seeing her. I’ve seen it happened after a while of getting used to a steady income and getting a little burned out and talking every day…and I’ve seen it happen straight off from day one.
While I understand that occasionally there is a big potential for burning out and just plain not being in the mood to talk to people (hell, that happens in real life if you spend too much time with the same people over and over again and just tell the same stories) the fact of the matter is that it’s not just about that. Each member is unique, with his own story and in a way wants you to focus all your attention on him and treat him as if you were one on one. That’s why they’re there and after all that is the performance you are there to give as well. So the way you approach them is very important. Don’t expect the member to just jump at the chance and join you. You’re the one that’s supposed to entice him and make him want you. In time you might get to make yourself regular members that know you and come to spend time with you, even if you are not in the greatest mood. But you should be always trying to get yourself new members, attracting more clients is what potentially will raise your income.
For example, I know a cam girl that has had the same steady (almost fixed) income for the past year. Day in and day out. Which in essence is not a problem, but she does complain about it constantly. Why she never makes more money when her colleagues sometimes make more… She’s the kind of model that has found herself a few regulars that keep coming and thinks that it’s enough. No reason to try harder. Now, at least several people have tried telling her that for your income to raise like that you need other members to spend money with you, not just your regular 5-6 that join you every day. For a reason she doesn’t really accept that and remains all around frustrated by the situation which in turn affects her behavior in free chat with new members on her page…which in turn denies her the opportunity to make new loyal members. And like that she gets stuck in a vicious cycle that’s pretty hard to get out of.
Let’s call this model Jane, for the sake of expediency. A couple of weeks ago, while having my morning coffee I caught a bit of a discussion between Jane and a couple of her colleagues about this subject. Her friends were insisting (and were right to do so, if I may add my opinion to this) that maybe she should try to approach the things differently at least for a couple of days. Take care of her regular members as usual but change her approach to free chat. They gave her a few pointers on what’s their approach as well. The way she should be presenting herself, both physical aspect and personality, how she should be talking to the members, things like that. For example, some models focus too much on abbreviations. Things like “hi bb”, “come pv” when in fact that is one of the worst things they could do. Everyone joining their free chat wants to feel special…saying hello to each of them and using their name is a must. A little small talk is encouraged…”how was your day?”, “what have you been doing” etc. That puts the client at ease and helps him transition into the same frame of mind one would have at say…having a coffee face to face with that person. Being in a constant hurry and just asking members to join private chat will ruin the mood even for the more…enthusiastic ones.
Armed with this advice and a determined attitude Jane decided to give it an honest shot and see what happens. Believe it or not the increase was visible right away. Not only did she keep her old members and had her usual private shows with them…but now her free chat was a lot more animated, members were tipping and chatting to her, she even got a couple of new loyal members out of it. Which obviously reflected well on her income. Consider that as personal experience on my part to seeing the change a good attitude in free chat means.
Out of all things models can do in video chat to affect their income in a negative way, this is one of the easiest to slip into without even realizing. After saying hello for so many times it’s simple for you to start being dismissive and in a hurry without even realizing it. Ideally you have someone to talk to, or someone will tell you in free chat…after you realize it’s happening it’s just up to you to fix it. It’s not hard, it’s not complicated…it just takes a little discipline and willingness. And after all why not try? It is after all something that you’ll be doing for your own good.
