The age old question of "Live to work or work to live?" How does that apply to a life in video chat? Is it worth working full weekends so you can save up dollar by dollar for an unmentioned or undisclosed future purpose?
First of all this very much depends on the moment in your life in which you think about this. Let's say we're talking about a cam girl in her early twenties because statistically that's the biggest probability. An age that doesn't really come with expectations of responsibility and seriousness. I mean, come on…aside from when life actually slapped us over the head and forced us to be serious at that age did any of us really feel like it's the right thing to do? Or was having fun at the front of our minds?
The thing is that to succeed in video chat you do need to invest pretty long hours and have a fairly disciplined schedule. Most cam girls will tell you that weekends are the most profitable and that that is where you should be focusing. While sometimes works like that the truth is that once you do make a name for yourself and you will get your loyal members following you they will tend to adapt after your hours not the other way around. So that is one thing to keep in mind. The other thing that you should be taking into account is a difference in time zones which is another influencing factor to when you are bound to get more traffic.
Either way, back to the initial idea. Thing is that no matter what job you have you have to be able to unwind and blow off some steam for you to function properly. And chances are that the occasions for you to do so pop up more often in the weekend rather than during the week. And from that stems the dilemma of should you be working or having fun this weekend. And while it may sound like selfish or irresponsible you should seriously be leaning towards the having fun side. Not only are you at an age where you are bound to discover many new things you are also at a point in your life where you shouldn't be having as many responsibilities as you will later on in life. And it's a shame to let it pass you by while you get stuck into working because eventually it will catch up to you and you will look back with regret thinking on what you missed and the fact there is no way for you to undo it and start over again.
Now, don't get me wrong…a weekend of working now and then won't kill anyone and maybe there will be times in which you want to gather up some extra cash before going on an expensive trip or something of the sort. Absolutely nothing wrong with that and it's to be applauded. But don't fall into the rabbit hole of saying "just one more weekend". You need to know when it's the time to enjoy yourself too and you need to take advantage of it. Go out with the girls, go out on dates, and take that long quiet walk in the park…anything you feel like doing really. Otherwise you will end up with that unnerving sensation of things passing you by and you missing out.
The point I'm trying to make is that especially if early into your twenties with so much to do ahead in life you should try and find a balancing point between work and play so as to manage to maintain a decent level of income but also to actually be able to enjoy what should be some of the best years of your life. Have fun, go do something wild…something stupid even. It's how we learn and how we get to properly learn things in life. The more you advance in age you will tend to agree with us ("the older crowd") that truly the only road worth regretting is the one not taken.
